My name is Mason Jefferson. I have been interested in technology since a young age, particularly in hardware. However, after hearing my father discuss his work in law enforcement and how difficult encryption made his job over the last few years, I decided to examine the software side of the subject. I found the different viewpoints fascinating and realized just how important encryption is in keeping the world safe from criminals, even if it comes with drawbacks.

I will be attending Purdue University next year to study computer networking, which the knowledge of encryption will assist me as security is essential to computer networks, whether they are large or small.
